Steam

The idea behind Steam was to design a logo concept for a train-related business without actually drawing a train. I decided to make typography the foundation of the design, using the word “Steam” itself as the starting point.

The word naturally suggested the shape of a locomotive, and I chose a typeface with ligatures to enhance that impression. I then used the shape of the “S” to suggest rising steam, adding subtle tracks underneath to complete the concept.
