Scenes from Old Japan

This project brings together two illustrations inspired by traditional Japan: an imagined everyday scene from the Edo period, and a Japanese castle surrounded by cherry blossoms.

I wanted to capture both the quiet human side of the past and the more iconic, symbolic side of Japanese history, placing a small moment of conversation alongside a familiar architectural landmark.
